It is a bit late, but Attorney General Merrick Garland has finally bolstered the protection for conservative justices.
On Wednesday, Garland ordered the U.S. Marshals to up security for the Supreme Court and its justices.
This comes after the Biden administration has openly encouraged protesting at justices’ private homes, which is actually against the law.
Enforce the Law
In announcing the added protection, Garland stated, “The Attorney General directed the U.S. Marshals Service to help ensure the Justices’ safety by providing additional support to the Marshal of the Supreme Court and Supreme Court Police.”
The protection comes after the Senate had a unanimous vote to beef up security, although the House has yet to vote on the bill.
My guess is that Pelosi will drag her feet on this, as she too has encouraged protesting at the justices’ homes, even though that is a violation of federal law.
Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) stated, “Attempts to intimidate Supreme Court Justices by the Radical Left are sadly nothing new, but dangerous nonetheless.
“We must protect the Justices and their families in case these protests do turn violent.”
What would be even more appropriate is for Garland to remind this administration that it should not be encouraging citizens to violate federal law.
It would be even more appropriate if Garland ordered Marshals to arrest protesters at the justices’ homes and promise to prosecute them to the full extent of the law.
But, we all know that will never happen, as Garland has proven time and again that he is the puppet’s lackey.
