In 2009, Glenn Beck accused then-President Barack Obama of being a “racist” during a segment of “Fox & Friends.”
Beck stated that Obama had a “deep-seated hatred” of white people.
He added, “The guy is, I believe, a racist.”
Beck later apologized, but now he is taking it all back.
Before we get into the apology, remember that Beck was among those on the conservative side of the aisle that were furious Trump won the primary.
In that mindset, Beck went on the attack against Trump and started to defend Obama’s presidency.
In November 2016, Beck took his criticism of Obama back, stating, “Obama made me a better man.
“There are things unique to the African American experience that I cannot relate to. I had to listen to them.”
He later added, “I know I wouldn’t believe me if I heard myself apologizing, so I’m telling you now: Don’t take my word for it.
“Watch my actions. I don’t care what you think about me. All I care about is saying, Please, don’t make the mistake I made.”
Glenn also ripped Trump, completely selling the Democrat narrative to his followers at the time, stating, “It is not acceptable to ask a moral, dignified man to cast his vote to help elect an immoral man who is absent decency or dignity.
“If the consequence of standing against Trump and for principles is indeed the election of Hillary Clinton, so be it. At least it is a moral, ethical choice.”
Beck would later apologize for those comments, but it is tough for me to give him a redo, even though I knew he would regret making those statements.
I was writing for another publication at the time, but I predicted then people like Beck would ultimately backtrack on Trump.
I also stated it would be very tough for me to ever get behind people again like Beck and Mark Levin because they were all hypocrites, only supporting what they believed would get them more headlines rather than holding firm.
Halfway through Trump’s presidency, I was proven right, as everyone one of them suddenly became diehard Trump supporters, completely going against everything they had said during the election.
We saw what they did not… that Trump was “needed” to expose the corruption in our political system.
As Trump did that, they all changed their tune realizing they had all been had, sold a false bill of goods by both sides of the aisle.
Beck has done a complete 180 and has now realized this 2009 comments about Obama were dead on.
While talking to Tucker Carlson on Wednesday night, Beck stated, “I take my apology back.
“I was exactly right, and I even stated it right. You are a racist if you believe in critical race theory.
“If you think that what Dr. Martin Luther King said, that he envisions a country that is seeing people for the content of their character and not their color, if you if think that’s wrong, then yes, you are a racist.”
Beck was referring to Obama’s recent statements about the right-wing fearmongering regarding CRT being taught in our schools.
He stated, “There are certain right-wing media venues, for example, that monetize and capitalize on stoking the fear and resentment of a white population that is witnessing a changing America and seeing demographic changes.
“And do everything they can to give people a sense that their way of life is threatened and that people are trying to take advantage of them.”
Welcome back to reality, Mr. Beck, and it is good to see you have finally fully come out of the haze you fell into when Trump won the 2016 primary.
