Biden Finds Unlikely Ally in Graham for Judicial Nominees

With all of the work the GOP put into leveling the judiciary playing field, one would have thought that Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) would have been a bit more selective in supporting Biden judiciary picks.

As it turns out, Graham has become the unlikely GOP ally that Biden needed to tilt the court left again.

Time after time, even while other GOP Senators are pushing back, Graham continues to give Joe a thumb’s up on his nominees.

The Odd Ally

Now, to be clear, every president has the right to pick judicial nominees.

That is not in question here.

What is in question is the actual nominees that Biden is putting forth.

Some of his nominees have drawn the ire of Republicans because of some rather extreme positions, but Graham keeps pushing them through.

Russell Wheeler, a fellow with the Brookings Institution, stated, “He believes presidents who win the election get to appoint judges, subject obviously to extreme cases, and I think he’s following through on it.”

Graham’s office also stated, “Senator Graham has long believed that under the Constitution the president has the right to select judges of their choosing and as long as they are qualified, they should generally be confirmed by the Senate.

“This is the traditional and customary role of the Senate in the judicial confirmation process.”

Let me put it this way… the only two senators who come close to Graham’s voting record are Senators Murkowski (R-AK) and Collins (R-MA).

This all seems very odd considering how proud Graham was of helping Trump level the playing field.

On the work done during the Trump administration, Graham stated, “I want to thank Donald Trump for nominating over 200 judges.

“Do you understand what we did from 2016 to 2020 for this country?

“Do you understand how we changed the nature of the court for the next 30 to 40 years?”

Well, that may have been the case when Trump left office, but Biden has already eaten away at ground made up, and I would suspect that if Graham keeps rubber-stamping nominees, we will be back to square one by the time January 2025 rolls around.

  1. Lindsey Graham should be voted out of office with a honest to God Conservative. Lindsey Graham is another RINO! Lindsey is two faced just like Mike Pence. It is to bad the RINO’s are contributing to the destruction of America.

  2. It is to bad that Facebook and Google block all communications whenever I make comments about the Dems. All of the sites need to be held accountable by blocking Freedom of Speech!

  3. We need to replace all the Rhino and Democrats in Congress. Red Wave on 2022 and 2024. We all know who they are and Lindsey is a far left fence sitter. Who ever pays him the most money he goes there way
