Joe Biden has recorded a first… his first airstrike in Somalia since the moving trucks showed up at the White House.
On Tuesday, an airstrike was ordered to target al Shabaab fighters in the Somalian city of Galkayo.
There have not yet been reports on the success of the strike.
The al-Shabaab group is part of the Al Qaeda network that was founded by Osama bin Laden.
The terrorist organization has been trying to overthrow Somalia for years, reminiscent of what the Taliban is trying to accomplish in Afghanistan.
This group has been a regular target of US airstrikes, but this would be the first one conducted since Joe Biden took office.
Earlier this month, al Shabaab was credited with a terror attack in Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia.
In that attack, nine people were reportedly killed.
The attack was meant to take out police commissioner Farhan Mohamud.
A suicide bomber drove a car up to Mohamud’s car and set off the device, but Mohamud was one of the few survivors of the attack.
