For two decades, we have had boots on the ground in Afghanistan as a direct result of the horrific terror attack on September 11, 2001.
Joe Biden has planned on commemorating that anniversary by ending one of our forever wars in the Middle East.
According to new reports, Biden has planned a full troop withdrawal to be concluded by September 11, 2021.
The Trump Plan
This would appear to be a continuation of the deal Trump had in place with the Taliban, however, that plan called for a full withdrawal by May 1, 2021.
An anonymous source told the Washington Post (yes, another anonymous source by the Post) that “This is the immediate, practical reality that our policy review discovered.
“If we break the May 1st deadline negotiated by the previous administration with no clear plan to exit, we will be back at war with the Taliban, and that was not something President Biden believed was in the national interest.”
The source added, “We’re going to zero troops by September.”
When Trump announced his plan, it was rejected by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) then and the plan is being rejected now.
Graham, in part, stated, “He [Biden] is paving the way for another 9/11.
“I think Joe Biden on foreign policy has been completely incompetent and destabilizing. What he’s done with the Iranians is a threat to everything we’ve accomplished in the Mideast.
“I just hope and pray that I’m wrong. But I knew what was going to happen in Iraq and Afghanistan is going to be worse.”
