Tucker Carlson is sending out a warning to both Trump supporters and Republicans that is rather quite urgent.
On Thursday night’s show, Carlson stated, “Not many people are saying it out loud on the Right. But the fact is that President Trump could well lose this election.
“In fact, unless fundamental facts change soon, it could be tough for him to be reelected.”
Beware the Overconfidence
Before you start shaking your head and say “no way” this will ever happen, consider that Democrats felt exactly that way in 2016.
I have stated many times that I do not abide by poll numbers, but I do believe they are very good at showing trends.
Ever since COVID-19 hit, the trend has been against Trump.
And I am not talking about national polls, because I could care less about them, I am talking about key battleground states that will determine the outcome of this election.
States Trump won easily are now handily in Biden’s back pocket and states that Trump should win easily, such as Florida and Texas, are now considered to be toss-ups.
I don’t expect election day numbers to be anywhere near what the poll numbers are, but the advantage Biden now has is comfortable enough to withstand the variance we will probably see on election day.
And I know, you don’t want to hear this, but that is also part of the problem. We can’t deal with the reality of where this election is headed if people won’t accept reality as fact.
Carlson addressed this very issue, stating, “We’re fully aware that virtually nobody watching this show tonight wants to hear that, but it’s true, and key people around the president know that it’s true. They’ve seen the numbers.”
It Can Still Be Rescued
One of the biggest reasons Trump is losing support is the very reason many people thought he would gain ground in the polls.
The rioting and looting that went on after George Floyd’s death were expected to boost Trump, but it has hurt him even more because Democrats have somehow managed to dump all of it right in Trump’s lap.
Carlson stated, “An awful lot of people voted for Donald Trump precisely to avoid a moment like the one we’re now in.”
It seems as though the thinking in this country is now starting to change to “if we give them what they want, maybe this will all stop.”
The reality is that the everyday American is exhausted of constantly being on the defensive and having to justify their political beliefs.
All those Americans that came out of nowhere during the 2016 election are back to being frustrated and disenfranchised and they will probably not be voting for Trump again in 2020, which could end up resulting in Biden winning the election.
Steve Bannon recently said something very telling and very perceptive about how things are playing out right now.
Trump is still acting like an outsider candidate rather than the incumbent president.
The same tactics that worked in 2016 are not going to work this time around and rather than worry about rallies, Trump should be leading by action and pushing the achievements of this administration to the voters of this country.
Monuments were not supposed to get torn down under Trump. Rioting and looting should not be happening in major cities under Trump. Our police officers were supposed to have the support of this administration, but there are now legitimate conversations being held to defund entire police departments throughout the country, which was not supposed to happen under Trump.
Sadly, the only way this changes is for Trump to win again as well as down-ballot Republicans to take back the House and get a bigger majority in the Senate.
Honestly, there is just not enough excitement on the right side of the aisle to make that happen right now.
This is not to say it won’t change by November because there is still plenty of time, but that clock is ticking.
Patriots, we have less than five months to right this ship and we better be successful or a man that hides in his basement is going to get the keys to the White House.
