While appearing on the Hill, Attorney General Merrick Garland assured members of Congress that terrorism tools were not being used against parents who had been upset during school board meetings.
An FBI whistleblower has come forward and is telling a completely different story.
Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Mike Johnson (R-LA) say they have the evidence, and they are going to blow this wide open.
We are about to find out what happens to the man responsible for upholding the laws breaks the laws.
If Jordan and Johnson’s whistleblower is telling the truth, Merrick Garland lied under oath to Congress, which is a crime.
After the National School Boards Association (NBSA) penned a letter to the Biden administration begging for help with upset parents, a memo was issued to the FBI by the DOJ.
Garland was asked about this on the Hill during congressional hearings on the matter.
He responded, “I can’t imagine any circumstance in which the Patriot Act would be used in the circumstances of parents complaining about their children, nor can I imagine a circumstance where they would be labeled as domestic terrorism.”
In a joint statement, Jordan and Thompson said, “This whistleblower information raises serious concerns that your October 4 memorandum will chill protected First Amendment activity as parents will rightfully fear that their passionate advocacy for their children could result in a visit from federal law enforcement.”
So, either Garland is entirely unaware of what is going on in the DOJ or he was complicit and lied about it.
Considering how much this administration lies to us on a daily basis, I will choose to believe the latter.
