Kamala Harris’ first trip abroad is not going very well.
Her plane was forced to turn around and make an emergency landing due to technical problems and now foreign leaders are embarrassing both Harris and Biden on the world stage.
With Harris in town, Guatemalan president Alejandro Giammattei openly blamed the change in immigration policies implemented by the Biden administration for the massive border surge.
Not the Only One
If you watched any of the press conferences from this trip, you already know Harris has been a complete disaster.
Once again, she had a cackling fit on the runway when discussing the unexpected landing and it only got worse from there.
Harris was even forced to change her message regarding immigration when she hit the ground.
She tried to justify not coming to the border out of the gate, calling unnecessary trips “grand gestures,” yet she forgets that she did make such a trip as a Senator to take a shot at Trump in 2018…

However, that is just the tip of the iceberg, as Harris faced some pretty tough scrutiny from the leader of the very country she was visiting.
Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei stated, “The message changed too: ‘We’re going to reunite families, we’re going to reunite children.’
“The very next day, the coyotes were here organizing groups of children to take them to the United States.”
This forced a bit of a change in the narrative Harris was pushing, as she stated, “I want to emphasize that the goal of our work is to help Guatemalans find hope at home, at the same time I want to be clear to folks in this region who are thinking about making the dangerous trek to the United States-Mexico border — do not come, do not come.”
Giammattei was not alone in his criticism, as the president of El Salvador had like words…
Needless to say, this trip is not going quite as planned.
