I know this will come as a surprise to many of you…
A former Obama official has just pleaded guilty to a fraud scheme.
Charles Edwards, who worked as acting inspector general at DHS-OIG between 2011 and 2013, is the culprit.
On Friday, the DOJ announced that Edwards has pleaded guilty to charges related to a scheme to steal confidential software from the government.
Edwards has been accused of stealing software for the office, including government databases.
The charge stated that he was doing this “so that his company could develop a commercially-owned version of a case management system to be offered for sale to government agencies.”
The report went on to say that Edwards had also hired developers in India to develop the software for his own country.
So, he was stealing government property, then he did not even have the decency to hire American workers to exploit it!
