Joe Biden is playing the blame game again, and the media is helping him.
The GOP has finally released its review of the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Now Biden, even though he openly rejected Trump’s plans and said he would come out of Afghanistan regardless, is pointing the finger of blame to Trump.
Bad Orange Man
Yes, Donald Trump made the initial agreement with the Taliban.
Honestly, I questioned at the time whether we could trust the Taliban, but Trump seemed to have outs built into the plan.
If the Taliban did not check off a box, the withdrawal was halted.
There were also provisions that had to be met after a departure.
After Trump left office, the Taliban walked all over Biden, and he could have killed the deal at any time, but he chose to move forward.
Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) stated, “Biden specifically said … he would have pulled out all of the troops against the advice of his own senior military advisers, the intelligence community, and our allies whether the Doha agreement existed or not.
“The Doha agreement was not perfect, but it absolutely did not force this disastrous withdrawal.”
Biden responded that they were stuck with the agreement, even though they easily could have shut this deal down because the Taliban was not meeting its requirements, which was the response of the GOP review.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley admitted as much in September 2021, stating, “While the Taliban did not attack U.S. forces … it failed to fully honor any … other commitments.”
Biden says this withdrawal has “strengthened our national security,” but even his own military leaders have pushed back on that.
McCaul’s office stated that the claim “has been refuted by the president’s top military advisers, the Defense Department, and our allies.”
Sadly, this entire debacle continues to get swept under the rug, as the mainstream media has never fully investigated or held Biden accountable for leaving Americans behind enemy lines.
