Governor Brian Kemp just got the worst possible news.
Stacey Abrams is getting rocked by scandals, slipping further and further back in polling.
Now he finds out he will have to testify in the probe against Trump, which could cost him votes.
Abrams had climbed into a dead heat with Kemp as recently as July.
Since then, several possible scandals have emerged over salaries Abrams has been drawing from what appear to be shell companies.
Kemp now has a significant lead, but now he is being called to testify in the Fulton County case against Trump.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert C.I. McBurney stated, “Remaining is the question of when the Governor will need to honor his subpoena. The answer is after the 8 November 2022 general election.
“The Governor is in the midst of a re-election campaign and this criminal grand jury investigation should not be used by the District Attorney, the Governor’s opponent, or the Governor himself to influence the outcome of that election.
“The sound and prudent course is to let the election proceed without further litigation or other activity concerning the Governor’s involvement in the special purpose grand jury’s work.
“Once the election is over, the Court expects the Governor’s legal team promptly to make arrangements for his appearance.”
The fact this is being required after the election could be the saving grace for Kemp, but we will have to keep an eye on how Trump supporters treat this to see if ends up hurting Kemp and possibly costing him the election.
