Before Biden even stepped into the White House, he had crafted a massive spending bill for COVID stimulus that he wanted to pass.
Now that Republicans have finally gotten a good look at the bill, they are ready to start picking it apart.
This week, House Republicans unveiled their simple, yet effective plan to fight back and hopefully derail some of the needless spending.
All Those Goodies
The way Democrats are touting Joe Biden’s bill, one would think every penny of it was going toward COVID spending in some way, shape, or form.
That, however, is not the case.
Democrats have packed the bill with all types of aid for other countries and needless spending.
For instance, there is about $130 billion for schools even though the money from the first two COVID relief bills has barely been tapped.
The Republican Study Committee (RSC) has put together a memo showing all the wasteful spending in the bill so Americans can see exactly where their money is being spent.
For instance, the legislation includes loan forgiveness and subsidies for ranchers and farmers, but it is only available for certain races and ethnic groups.
There is also $50 million tagged for environmental justice grant programs.
The RSC has called it “a thinly-veiled kickback to leftist environmental groups.”
Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) stated, “The RSC is leading conservatives inside and outside the Beltway in opposition to this so-called ‘relief package.’
“The more we learn about it, the worse it sounds.
“That’s why we’ve put together a fact sheet to educate Americans exactly how their taxpayer dollars are being spent by Democrats.”
Democrats are going to push this as a matter of urgency to get it passed without it being truly scrutinized by voters and Republicans alike.
Sadly, I have even heard some Republicans say pass this now, fix it later, which is generally how we get into trouble with big spending bills.
Our generation is doomed in terms of being able to get out of this debt, but now Democrats are ensuring that future generations will still be paying this debt off long after we are all gone.
The really scary thing is that this is far from the last of the spending, as Democrats are still trying to push reparations, student loans, and immigration spending, just to name a few.
