When a budgetary bill was put on the floor, progressives in the party blocked funding for Israel’s Iron Dome defensive package.
Eventually, a measure was introduced as a stand-alone bill, and it overwhelmingly passed.
There were only 11 votes that did not support the bill, which brought AOC to tears.
House Appropriations Committee Chair Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) laid down the gauntlet, stating, “The United States’ commitment to the security of our friend and ally Israel is ironclad. Replenishing interceptors used to protect Israel from attacks is our legal and moral responsibility.
“While this funding would ordinarily be included in a year-end spending package, we are advancing this legislation now to demonstrate Congress’ bipartisan commitment to Israel’s security as part of a Middle East with lasting peace.”
Prior to the bill passing, this was typical of what we saw from Squad members…

This has also caused some concern from Israel, who is now requesting face time with the powers that be to find out if it still has the full support of the United States.
Fox News discussed this during a recent segment…
This will be a big problem for Democrats moving forward if they expect to make the most of Joe Biden’s second year in office before Republicans take back the House in 2022.
