It would appear that Hollywood has had about all it can take of this cancel culture generation.
Collins, once one of the most popular bombshells in Hollywood, opened up regarding the fad.
She stated that she does not even get involved in social media because “I don’t want to engage in any way, shape or form with these morons.”
The recent dredging up of an old email from Raiders coach Jon Gruden and the chatter about Dave Chappelle made the exact points that Collins was stressing in her interview.
She stated, “People can’t say what they think because they’ll get canceled.
“Dredging up tweets from 15 years ago, about what somebody might have said when they were 14, I think that’s sick.”
She also defended the legacy of Winston Churchill, who has been taking some posthumous hits as of late.
Collins stated, “I was too young at the time to realize, but they were on our doorstep.
“If it hadn’t been for Churchill, we would all be walking around with swastikas.”
She is right in everything she stated, as this canceling of people has just gotten completely out of control.
You just never know when a phone is recording, so people always have their guard up.
The moment they let it down, regardless of their history or what they have done with their lives, they are treated as the enemy of the people.
To that exact point, Collins stated, “The thing is you can’t say anything these days without being canceled. What am I allowed to say?”
That is a great question, Joan.
