One of the popular personalities on Fox News has been terminated.
On Friday, Fox News announced that the network and Leland Vittert were parting ways.
Speculation is already running rampant that Vittert may have been fired due to his crossing swords with President Trump.
Where is Leland?
Vittert has had some difficult assignments in the past, but the past year was probably his worst.
Among other issues, Vittert and his crew were attacked on the street while reporting the George Floyd riots.
He also drew the wrath of Trump after challenging Trump on some policy issues.
Trump, at the time, tweeted, “Were @FoxNews weekend anchors, @ArthelNeville and @LelandVittert, trained by CNN prior to their ratings collapse?
“In any event, that’s where they should be working, along with their lowest rated anchor, Shepard Smith!”
While the media would love to spin the narrative that Trump had him fired, I seriously doubt that is the case.
Vittert has been MIA since January, so it is far more likely that he has decided that either Fox News or journalism as a whole is no longer what he wants to do.
The mob scene really impacted him, stating at the time, “This was the scariest situation I’ve been in since I got chased out of Tahrir Square by a mob, and this was equally scary.”
Those are pretty strong words for a man that has covered war zones for the better part of his career.
