Meadows Confirms He Will NOT Run for Senate in 2022

If the current election results hold, there is a lot of speculation as to the political future of Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

With Senator Burr (R-N.C.) having already announced that he would not be running for re-election, many thought Meadows would immediately jump in to try to keep that seat for Republicans.

Meadows, however, has other plans.

He stated, “I love the people of North Carolina. But I not only have no plans, I have no intentions to run for the Senate in 2022.

“I’ve had a number of people talk about running for that seat, if indeed Sen. Burr retires.

“My conversations have included some of the sitting House members as well as Lara Trump, and, to my knowledge, no one’s made a definitive decision on whether to toss their hat in the ring or not.

“But in terms of my hat, it won’t be in the ring.”

This will open the door for Lara Trump, who has deep ties to the state and has immediately become the front runner in the race, even though she has yet to firmly commit to running.

GOP CHAIR TWEETS

In the same breath that CNN says we need unity, they equate half the country with the KKK.

They question the commitment to democracy of an Army veteran who lost his legs fighting in Afghanistan.

Smears like this only drive us further apart.

CNN's @DonLemon: If you voted for Trump, you're with the Klan & the Capitol Hill rioters

Those who partook in the assault on our Capitol & those who continue to threaten violence should be found, held accountable & prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Let me be clear: Anyone who has malicious intent is not welcome in Washington or in any state capitol.
