New York’s Governor Cuomo Reverses Stance on Shutdowns

Democrats are about as predictable as one could possibly be.

When shutdowns were first mentioned, I stated that the stance by Dems would change as soon as Joe Biden got into office if he won the election.

Well, Joe Biden has been declared the president-elect by the Electoral College and now one of the biggest advocates for lockdowns, Governor Andrew Cuomo, is suddenly reversing course and recommending that businesses open back up right now.

Change of Heart

Even though Cuomo has become a media darling, any neutral observer can see he has botched the COVID response from beginning to end.

God only knows how much his panic over ventilators cost but there was also the problem with nursing homes as well as problems New York is having with the vaccine rollout.

Initially, Cuomo was among those pitching the narrative that businesses could not reopen until the vaccine had been fully rolled out, but Cuomo has also botched that, so now he is changing course again.

Cuomo recently stated, “We simply cannot stay closed until the vaccine hits critical mass.

“The cost is too high. We will have nothing left to open.

“We must reopen the economy, but we must do it smartly and safely.”

New York is in big-time financial trouble right now, as well as having to deal with a mass exodus over the last year largely due to Cuomo’s pandemic policies.

The situation has gotten so dire, in fact, that some believe New York may lose congressional seats.

It is good to see that Cuomo finally got the message in terms of how devastating this shutdown has been for small business owners, it is just sad to see he waited until it was too late to listen.
