Last month, Joe Biden dropped a bombshell on the country.
He revealed that he wanted businesses with more than 100 employees to have vaccine mandates in place.
OSHA has finally submitted the rule to the Office of Management and Budget Review (OMB), which means we may only be days from the mandate being approved.
Joe Biden will probably look at this as a good thing, but it is anything but.
Numerous major companies around the country have already jumped on board the vaccine mandate.
However, it is not going exactly as planned.
Our military stands to lose hundreds of thousands of troops, and airlines are now seeing mass firings and resignations from the mandate.
Because the fines are so hefty for companies that do not comply, employers will have no choice but to put this mandate in place, which will significantly hurt their ability to conduct business.
One would think Biden would at least look at what is happening and back off, but they are hitting the gas pedal.
After the rule was submitted by OSHA, a Department of Labor spokesperson stated, “The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been working expeditiously to develop an emergency temporary standard that covers employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workers are fully vaccinated or undergo weekly testing to protect employees from the spread of coronavirus in the workplace.
“On Tuesday, October 12, as part of the regulatory review process, the agency submitted the initial text of the emergency temporary standard to the Office of Management and Budget.”
The new mandate is already under protest by dozens of Republican AGs, who submitted a formal letter to protest the new mandate.
In part, it read, “From a policy perspective, this edict is unlikely to win hearts and minds – it will simply drive further skepticism.
“And at least some Americans will simply leave the job market instead of complying.”
There is no timeline for the review, but Biden has shown an interest in getting it in place as soon as possible.
My best guess here is that the governmental wheels that usually churn in mud will find a way to expedite this, with the mandate possibly going into effect at the start of the new year.
