Joe Biden is finally going to make an address before a joint session of Congress.
House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) had previously defended Biden for not speaking because of the pandemic.
Regardless, there has been significant pressure on Biden to speak, as most sitting presidents have done so within the first few weeks of taking office.
Late Wednesday, reports broke that Pelosi had invited Biden to speak on April 28, and he accepted that invitation.
Help is Here!
The new theme for Democrats is that “help is here” and “better days are coming.”
To that point, Pelosi, in her letter, stated, “Nearly 100 days ago, when you took the oath of office, you pledged in a spirit of great hope that ‘Help Is On The Way.’ Now, because of your historic and transformative leadership, Help Is Here!”
“In that spirit, I am writing to invite you to address a Joint Session of Congress on Wednesday, April 28, to share your vision for addressing the challenges and opportunities of this historic moment.”
I would suspect that even conservatives will tune in for this one just to see what Biden has to say and how many lies he spills while talking.
We would also expect him to take numerous shots at Trump, at which point we would anticipate a hearty chorus of boos.
If Biden gets half the rhetoric tossed at him as Donald Trump had, it will be both a long and frustrating night for Biden.
