Pelosi Called Out by Stahl for Obstructing COVID Relief

It is not often the media calls out Democrats these days, but that is exactly what happened this weekend when House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) sat down with Leslie Stahl from “60 Minutes.”

After allowing Pelosi to rant about Donald Trump, Stahl flipped the script a bit and put Pelosi on the spot over the delay on COVID stimulus.

Pelosi was clearly perturbed and tried to blame it all on Republicans, but Stahl actually put some pressure on her, pressure Pelosi was not happy about.

Obstruction

When Pelosi brought forth her initial stimulus package, even she knew it would never get passed by the Senate.

This was their wish list legislation, so they were going for broke to see how much they could get added to the legislation.

Republicans offered to pass a clean bill, but Pelosi balked, calling it an all or nothing deal.

This is what Stahl went after Pelosi for during the interview.

Here is the exchange…

Her Own World

Notice how when Pelosi gets put on the spot about her party members balking that she acts as though she never heard those calls?

That was headline news on virtually every outlet, yet somehow Pelosi never heard about it.

She also continues to blame everything on Republicans, something that will only contribute to creating more of a divide.

Over the last week, I have heard dozens of Republicans come forward willing to bury the hatchet, but Democrats are simply not interested in that right now and Pelosi’s attitude is leading that charge.

With Democrats about to have complete control of the government, Pelosi is not interested in a truce because she no longer needs Republican cooperation to pass any legislation she wants.

And believe me, Democrats are going to keep Joe Biden busy signing legislation just about every day of the first two years of his presidency.
