You just have to love when Democrats are on foreign soil trashing our country.
The latest to do so was House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
During a question-and-answer session, Pelosi agreed with a commenter that the United States military accounts for more pollution than 140 countries combined.
Out of Context
Pelosi is across the pond at the COP26 summit meeting.
The top Democrat was asked if our military is “exempt” from being involved in climate talks because it is “a larger polluter than 140 countries combined.”
Pelosi took no time to agree with the comment, stating, “We recognize that as well.”
The question itself is a loaded one.
If you look at the bottom 140 countries in the world, the top of that list comes in around 10 million residents, which is about a third of the size of Texas.
Furthermore, the United States currently is among the leaders in reducing carbon emissions, including the military, so this question is complete nonsense.
A far better question would be why China and India, countries with roughly four times the population of the United States, are not involved in these conversations.
What the rest of the globe does literally means nothing if China and India are not part of this effort to reduce carbon emissions.
In terms of what the military cranks out, it’s the military, and it needs reliable power, which means fossil fuels.
It is utterly ridiculous and insulting to our military that Pelosi even entertained this question with a straight face.
