You know that “challenge” at the border that Dems say is not really a problem?
Well, that situation has now resulted in a third military base being turned into a dormitory for illegal immigrant children.
The Pentagon has officially approved Camp Roberts to house the unaccompanied minors.
Military Camps or Dorms?
The Biden administration continues to scramble for ways to house children that are coming over our border in record numbers.
One of the solutions the administration has come up with is turning some military bases into housing units for the children.
With Camp Roberts now on the approved list, Health and Human Services now has three military bases that are being used as illegal immigrant dorms.
A Defense Department official confirmed the report, stating, “On April 2, the Department of Defense approved a request for assistance from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for facilities and land to temporarily house unaccompanied children at Camp Roberts, California.
“This support is being provided on a fully-reimbursable basis.
“DoD only provides this kind of support where it has no impact on military readiness and its ability to conduct its primary missions.”
This is not going to stop, at least not anytime soon.
These numbers are not just small increases, either, as they are almost now double what we saw last year.
Reports now state that 171,000 migrants came over the border in March, up from about 100,000 in 2020.
There are now estimates that as many as 184,000 unaccompanied children could cross the border by year’s end.
An unnamed source close to the situation told Fox News, “We’ve never seen anything like this before.”
Former CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan and Heritage senior research fellow Lora Ries said in a statement, “We have a crisis on the border, even though the Biden administration still refuses to acknowledge it.
“Today’s numbers are just more evidence of this undeniable reality – and proof that President Biden’s policies are driving this crisis.”
