REPORT: Al Qaeda’s Second in Command Killed in Afghanistan

Reports broke earlier today that one of the most-wanted terrorists on the planet has been killed.

Afghanistan is claiming to have killed Husam Abd al-Rauf, a top Al Qaeda propagandist.

His group was reportedly operating in the eastern part of Afghanistan.

FBI Most Wanted

Husam Abd al-Rauf, also known as Abu Muhsin al-Masri, was one of the top names on the FBI’s Most Wanted list.

His death comes following a violent stretch, which includes the most recent bombing at an education center near Kabul.

In that attack, 24 people were killed.

Sketchy Details

The death of Husam Abd al-Rauf also comes at a time when Afghanistan continues peace talks with the Taliban, which are now threatened due to his death and the uptick in violence.

Details of his death have still not been completely filled in, even though the attack where he was killed reportedly happened last week (it only just now being reported).

From the details that have emerged, al-Rauf was in a Kunsaf village when it was raided.

Afghan special forces engaged in a massive firefight, killing seven alleged militants, which included Husam Abd al-Rauf.

Al Qaeda, to this point, has not confirmed his death.
