Tragedy struck our military on Tuesday when a Navy corpsman opened up fire on two of his fellow sailors.
According to reports, Petty Officer Third-Class Fantahun Girma Woldesenbet shot at two fellow sailors at Riverside Tech Park.
He then proceeded to drive onto the military installation, where he was gunned down by military police after drawing a weapon.
Critical but Stable
Thankfully, both victims are expected to survive, although one of the sailors is listed in critical but stable condition.
U.S. Army Garrison Fort Detrick Commander Col. Dexter Nunnally stated, “Our number one priority is the safety of our people.
“Our emergency responders are well-trained for these types of situations and the fast response of our military police enabled us to contain this threat quickly.”
