During a recent interview, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) hit all the hot talking points that Democrats are trying to push to get their agenda through Congress.
Schumer, like Biden, is now pushing the narrative that legislation is now bipartisan if a poll says Republican voters are behind a bill even if a single GOP member of Congress does not vote for the bill.
Schumer also confessed that if the GOP does not agree with the legislation, Schumer and company are not going to let that stop them from making “progressive change.”
We Don’t Need You
The underlying narrative to everything the Dems are saying is the same…
If you want to accept our progressive legislation, fine, but we do not need you.
To that point, this is, in part, what Schumer had to say…
“The question that everyone’s asking is why is there such a dichotomy between the Republican voters, electorate, and the Republican Senators.
“For instance, 60% of Republicans think the ARP, the American Rescue Plan, the most comprehensive progressive piece of legislation we passed in decades, is a good thing. How many Republican Senators voted for it? Zero. Why? It’s because Trump still controls them. They’re still afraid of him. He wants nothing to succeed.
“He’s sort of a — nihilist is too strong a word. He’s an egotistical man who wants to bring everything down because he lost, and so you have this division. It ends up hurting the Republican Party, but it also hurts America.
“Now we’re not going to let that stop us. We’d always prefer to work with the Republicans when we can, but if with can’t, just as we just showed in the American Rescue Plan, if they’re not with us, we’re going to get it done, and the American people will be on our side.”
Perhaps it is because legislation that is being touted as COVID relief is 90 percent fat.
Or, maybe it is because an infrastructure bill only has about half the money, if that, going to actual infrastructure, with the remainder going to what Democrats are now calling “human infrastructure.”
Dems are using wordplay right now to both fool Americans and turn as many people as possible against conservatives.
I can quite honestly say that this is the most despicable political and charged environment I have ever seen in Congress.
Sadly, while the media is blaming Republicans for it, it is the Democrats that are walking around with gas cans and matches.
