Among those being considered and/or recommended for a Biden Cabinet position is Susan Rice.
She served two roles in the Obama administration and is reportedly being endorsed by Barack Obama himself to join a Biden administration.
According to Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), however, that will NEVER happen.
Susan Rice, to use Senator Cotton’s own words, is the “Typhoid Mary” of the Obama administration.
She has more scandals surrounding her than virtually every other name that has come up.
As such, it is utterly inconceivable that Republicans, if they control the Senate, would approve her for any role in a Biden administration…
This is hardly the only pushback that Joe Biden is going to face, either.
AOC’s Justice Democrats has also been very outspoken regarding the possible appointments that will be made in Biden’s administration.
Executive Director of Justice Democrats, Alexandra Rojas, stated, “If Joe Biden continues making corporate-friendly appointments to his White House, he will risk quickly fracturing the hard-earned goodwill his team built with progressives to defeat Donald Trump.
“A Biden administration dominated by corporate-friendly insiders like Steve Ricchetti and Cedric Richmond will not help the President-elect usher in the most progressive Democratic administration in generations.”
It All Rides on Georgia
Of course, in order to block a possible Rice appointment, Republicans will still need to win at least one seat in the runoff election on January 5, but more likely they will need to win two.
Even though Republicans would hold a majority with one seat, there is a very real fear that someone like Senator Romney (R-UT) will not hold the line and vote with Democrats.
He is about as spineless as they come and he is friends with Joe Biden, so it is hard to imagine him putting up any resistance to Biden’s appointments.
For that reason, winning both seats in the Georgia Senate runoff is now priority number one for Republicans.
