Defense Secretary Austin has a major problem on his hands right now.
Joe Biden wanted a vaccine mandate in place, so Austin let it fly, with mandates now in place for all service branches.
The problem… troops are refusing, which is technically disobeying a direct order, and now there is a rift between troops and Pentagon leadership that goes all the way up to the Secretary of Defense, and by default, the Commander in Chief.
Significantly Impact Our Nation’s Security
When the military vaccine was put in place, I am sure Joe Biden thought service members would cower to the order, roll up their sleeves, and take the jab.
While a considerable number of troops took the jab, each branch has anywhere from 10-20 percent that have not.
With roughly 2.5 million active service members, this amounts to hundreds of thousands of troops that stand to be dismissed.
As if that were not bad enough, reports are now stating that the biggest pockets of resistance are among the most elite of our warriors.
Large numbers of Special Forces operators in all branches are saying “no” to the vaccine, which will significantly impact our ability to defend this country.
Davis Younts, an attorney representing dozens of troops, stated, “My clients, the guys I’m representing, and the SEALs I’ve spoken to, are what we’re calling ‘hard no’s’… that means you’re going to submit a religious accommodation request, you’re going to submit a medical exemption based on where you’re at… and then if it’s not approved, they’re not going to take the vaccine.”
With the amount of money and training tied up in these individuals, it will be a crippling blow, not to mention leaving the United States ripe for attack.
It is not so much that we would expect someone to be so bold as to attack us on our home soil (other than a terrorist operation), but some of our more vulnerable allies could pay the price, with our enemies knowing full well we are not in a position to help.
Adding to the problem is there is no clear rule for what will happen to those that fail to meet the vaccination deadline.
They are going to have to be consistent across the board or open themselves up for massive lawsuits.
If Austin and Biden follow through with the threat of dishonorable discharge, there will be mass resignations to protect benefits and mass discharges.
Our top warriors and pilots will all be gone, leaving a massive void in areas where our military simply cannot afford to be vulnerable.
