Trump Declares State of Emergency for D.C. for Biden Inauguration

In a rather stunning move, President Trump has agreed to declare a state of emergency in Washington, D.C.

This was a request that was made by D.C.’s Mayor and granted by Trump prior to the Biden inauguration.

The measure is a direct result of the Capitol riot and will enable more federal agencies to help protect Biden during the inauguration.

Threats Made

Earlier this week, reports broke that the FBI had credible threats for armed protests at 50 state capitols as well as the U.S. Capitol.

The protests were scheduled to occur in the days leading up to and including inauguration day.

This had a bit of a domino effect, as the D.C. mayor grew very concerned about keeping Joe Biden safe during his inauguration.

Approving State of Emergency

While Trump has been resistant to acknowledge anything to do with a Biden win, his tune has changed dramatically since the riot.

Trump has already agreed to drop his lawsuits as well as concentrate on a peaceful transfer of power.

The President has already stated that he would not be at the inauguration, but he clearly does not want anything to go wrong on what will be his last act as president.

In approving the state of emergency, the White House stated, “President Donald J. Trump declared that an emergency exists in the District of Columbia and ordered Federal assistance to supplement the District’s response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from the 59th Presidential Inauguration from January 11 to January 24, 2021.”

As part of this declaration, the National Guard is reportedly deploying at least 10,000 troops to the D.C. area.

Some pictures have already surfaced showing areas of deployment, making D.C. look as though it is under Martial Law.

GOP CHAIR TWEETS

An IG report found that DHS Sec. nominee Alejandro Mayorkas fostered an atmosphere of “favoritism and special access” on projects connected to major Dems as a DHS deputy sec. under Obama.

“[F]avoritism” to Dems...sounds like a return to Lois Lerner-style governance.

Obama’s Def Sec. Bob Gates said of Joe Biden, “I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue...”

And Biden's nominee for State, Antony Blinken, was Biden's national security advisor under Obama, helping him make all the wrong calls.

Treasury nominee Yellen backs “open trade” with China & said in 2018, “I do not see unfair trade practices in China...as what is responsible for the U.S. trade deficit.”

In reality, the U.S. needs FAIR trade with China, not simply "open" trade that lets China take advantage.
