President Trump dropped a bombshell announcement on Wednesday afternoon about Attorney General William Barr.
During an interview with Newsmax, Trump expressed his displeasure with the current Attorney General.
He also refused to commit to offering Barr a second term position if Trump wins re-election.
Trump is not happy with Barr and who can blame him?
Barr has refused to indict anyone of significance, which has angered Trump and his supporters.
Even though strong evidence points to wrongdoing by former FBI Director James Comey, Barr has never committed to making him a target.
The last straw seems to be the Durham report, which has turned out to be a complete waste of time.
Trump, who says he has seen the evidence, believes it is more than enough to put some people behind bars.
When asked about Barr serving a second term if Trump is re-elected, the President stated, “I have no comment.
“I can’t comment on that. It’s too early.”
“I’m not happy with all the evidence I have, I can tell you that. I’m not happy.”
The Durham Flop
For months, the DOJ and Trump’s allies in the media have been dangling the Durham probe as the big takedown.
Even Senator Graham promised big things, but all we have seen thus far has been a single indictment of a low-level FBI attorney.
Last week, reports broke that Durham was turning files over for congressional review, something that would NOT be happening if there were going to be more indictments.
Now, Barr has reportedly informed Republican leadership that the report will not be ready before the election, which left Trump fuming and looking for heads to chop off.
From day one, I stated the Durham probe would be a flop and I have been very critical of Barr for the same reason as Trump is now upset.
I wish I would have been wrong on both accounts, as this is one “I told you so” I wish I never had to say.
If Barr does end up getting relieved, don’t be surprised if Trump tries to get someone like Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) to take the job.
Democrat corruption has long been a target for Cruz and I would imagine he would be licking his chops at the opportunity to go after the likes of Comey, Clinton, Biden, Clapper, and Brennan.
