Trump Signs $400 Weekly Additional Unemployment Benefits

President Trump, on Saturday, signed an executive order that has sent shockwaves through the Democrat party.

While there seem to be some questions regarding the constitutionality of the EO, Trump did not hesitate to sign the order that will offer an additional $400 in unemployment benefits for American workers.

Trump also offered a deferment of the payroll tax through the end of the year, none of which was received very well by Democrats.

Expect Legal Challenges

The fact that Trump signed these orders has Democrats completely up in arms.

By doing this, Trump has taken away every bit of leverage that Dems have to push through their leftist agenda within the stimulus package.

Hence why Pelosi is wigging out every time someone rams a microphone in her face and why Democrats are already threatening legal action.

On issuing the new orders, Trump stated, “Democrats are obstructing all of it.

“Therefore, I’m taking executive action … and we’re going to save American jobs and provide relief to the American workers.”

Dems on the Attack

I am pretty sure the ink on the Executive Order was not even dry yet when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) went off.

She, along with Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) stated, “Today’s meager announcements by the president show President Trump still does not comprehend the seriousness or the urgency of the health and economic crises facing working families.

“We’re disappointed that instead of putting in the work to solve Americans’ problems, the President instead chose to stay on his luxury golf course to announce unworkable, weak and narrow policy announcements to slash the unemployment benefits that millions desperately need and endanger seniors’ Social Security and Medicare.”

Senator Wyden (D-OR) also got into the act, stating, “Donald Trump is trying to distract from his failure to extend the $600 federal boost for 30 million unemployed workers by issuing illegal executive orders.

“This scheme is a classic Donald Trump con: play-acting at leadership while robbing people of the support they desperately need.”

While Democrats whined, the response was mostly positive across the board from Republicans…

This issue will NOT be settled until Democrats decide to dial back their spending.

The House passed the HEROES Act in May, which was a $3 trillion piece of legislation that made Republicans gag.

Dems have offered to come down by $1 trillion if Republicans would come up by the same amount, but Republicans finally showed some backbone and walked away from the table.
