Trump Terminates US Relationship with World Health Organization

President Trump has been adamant that he wanted to see overwhelming reforms by the World Health Organization (WHO) if it wanted continued support from the United States.

After failing to meet his demands, on Friday, President Trump announced he was “terminating” the relationship between the WHO and the United States once and for all.

You Have Been Terminated

President Trump is facing a firestorm from Democrats right now, and this decision is not going to make things any better.

The George Floyd case and his reaction has Democrats once again pushing the racist narrative and the media is buying into it hook, line, and sinker.

That has not stopped Trump, however, from making the tough decisions he believes have to be made to protect this country.

Trump stated, “Because they have failed to make the requested and greatly needed reforms, we will be today terminating our relationship with the World Health Organization and redirecting those funds to other worldwide and deserving urgent global public health needs.”

Hitting China Hard

The announcement by Trump to end WHO funding was accompanied with an announcement about measures being taken against China as well.

Trump announced several measures that are believed to just be the start of actions he will take against China to hold them accountable for allegedly holding back information during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump stated, “Chinese officials ignored their reporting obligations to the World Health Organization and pressured the World Health Organization to mislead the world when the virus was first discovered by Chinese authorities.

“Countless lives have been taken and profound economic hardship has been inflicted across the globe.”

He further stated that he would “suspend the entry of certain foreign nationals from China who we have identified as a potential security risk.”

This has come during a week when the State Department announced that Hong Kong was no longer autonomous, with Beijing shutting down agreed upon freedoms that were part of the deal when the territory was handed over to the Chinese by the British in a 1997 deal.

Trump also addressed that problem, stating, “China has replaced its promised formula of ‘one country two systems’ with ‘one country one system.’”

He later added, “The rest of the world was electrified by a sense of optimism that Hong Kong was a glimpse of China’s future, not that Hong Kong would grow into a reflection of China’s past.”
