Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) got a little help from his friend this week.
Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.V.) announced that she will stand by her fellow West Virginian on his energy reform proposal he wants to attach to a government funding bill.
The bill would help support the Mountain Valley Pipeline project in West Virginia.
If the government funding bill is not passed by next week, it faces a shutdown, which is something Biden surely wants to avoid.
Manchin wants to attach this proposal to that funding bill.
Getting Senator Moore Capito on board is good news, but it is far from great news.
Manchin still does not have the full support of all Democrats and most Republicans are expected to shoot it down.
For instance, Senator Warren (D-MA) wants all permitted language removed from the spending bill.
That is hysterical when you consider all the garbage Democrats have been throwing into legislation lately.
Most Republicans want to block it because they felt betrayed by Manchin when he helped push through Biden’s latest spending bill.
Manchin sold everyone out solely to get this proposal included in this spending bill.
