Philadelphia used to be a proud city.
Those days are clearly gone.
To that point, a woman was reportedly raped by a stranger on a commuter train while bystanders did absolutely nothing to help her.
Fiston Ngoy, 35, has been charged with the rape, and the entire incident of which was captured on surveillance video.
Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt of the Upper Darby Police Department stated, “There was a lot of people, in my opinion, that should have intervened; somebody should have done something.”
But they didn’t. Nobody even called 911 during the attack.
Bernhardt continued, “It speaks to where we are in society.
“I mean, who would allow something like that to take place? So it’s troubling.”
He also called the victim an “unbelievable strong woman.”
As to her condition, he stated, “She’s on the mend. Hopefully she will get through this.”
Keep in mind, this is a city that is about to ban police from the ability to stop individuals for minor traffic violations in the name of racial equality.
How many times are violent criminals taken off the street due to a minor traffic violation? How often are violent criminals taken off the street because police notice something hinky about the suspect during a traffic stop?
That will no longer happen in the cesspool that has become Philadelphia.
